Pastor's Message
May 18-19, 2024 - Pentecost Sunday
On Saturday, May 11th, Bishop Adam Parker confirmed 58 of our High School Youth in two joyful Confirmation Liturgies held that day. In his homily, Bishop Parker challenged the candidates, and all gathered to worship “not at the altar of self but at the altar of Christ.” Congratulations to our Confirmandi.
We have a group of parishioners, men and women, here at Holy Family called “The Holy Mowers.” This group of parishioners, using a riding lawn mower, mows the grass at the rectory on a rotating weekly basis. I am thankful to The Holy Mowers for their lawncare and upkeep of the gardens at the rectory. The Holy Mowers are seeking new members. If you would like to join this ministry, please call the Parish Office.
We are seeking a part-time Office Assistant to serve here at Holy Family on our Parish Staff. Any person interested in the position should apply through the Archdiocese of Baltimore at archbalt.org. On the homepage, click on “Careers” and scroll down to the entry “Administrative Assistant.”
Our Annual Holy Family Parish Picnic is this Sunday, May 19th, here on our campus beginning at Noon. Join us for a day of fun and fellowship! Along with food and drink, we have fun outdoor activities planned such as a dunking booth, a moon bounce and pony rides for children. If you are going to attend, please sign up on the parish website at www.holyfamilychurch.com. We ask you to bring a dish to share and need of volunteers to bake desserts for the cake wheel. Hope to see you there!
Today we celebrate Pentecost, the day that the Holy Spirit came down upon the first disciples and the beginning of the Church. On this Pentecost 2024, may the Holy Spirit come down upon us all, guiding us and strengthening us in our witness unto the Lord Jesus.
Blessings,
